Cavaliers Win First Road Game of 2024 Playoffs
The Cleveland Cavaliers continued to put on a show in the NBA Playoffs dominating the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers rallied from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to stun the Celtics 105-104 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday night.
After the Celtics took a 104-95 lead with 3:04 remaining, the Cavaliers closed the game on a 10-0 run. Darius Garland hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 104-98, and Isaac Okoro made it a one-possession game with a layup with 1:46 left. Garland then drew a foul on Jaylen Brown and hit both free throws to tie the game at 104.
The Celtics had the chance to win the game in the final seconds, but Brown missed a jumper and Jayson Tatum's tip-in attempt was blocked by Evan Mobley. The Cavaliers then grabbed the rebound and held on for the victory.
Garland led the Cavaliers with 25 points, while Jarrett Allen added 21 points and 14 rebounds. Okoro finished with 17 points and Mobley had 16 points.
Tatum led the Celtics with 21 points, while Brown added 19 points. Jaylen Brown missed a jumper and Jayson Tatum's tip-in attempt was blocked by Evan Mobley. The Cavaliers then grabbed the rebound and held on for the victory.
